Last Friday industry leaders joined the creative team behind Tigeropolis a Jungle Adventure at an event at BAFTA to celebrate the game’s forthcoming launch on Apple TV.
The game launches mid December.
Twenty five creative and industry leaders gathered for a brief celebration at Bafta’s prestigious Piccadilly Headquarters. The audience heard Paul Durrant, Founder & Chief Executive of the UK Games Fund say that Tigeropolis is exactly the sort of innovative new approach to video games-making that he is seeking to encourage. Kay acknowledged the help Belle Media had received from a small seed grant from Publishing Scotland that allowed them to investigate the possibility of turning B&W art work from a book into quasi 3D colour scenes in the game. Belle were also able to qualify for the UK Games Tax Credit. Scheme. These two schemes, whilst not fundamental to the financing of the project, helped convince the Directors that it was the right time to invest in developing a game based on the company’s IP.
Game design was by Spinning Finch – where the team was lead by Ross Burridge – a long time collaborator with Belle Media. Game artwork was by Matt Rowe and based on the artwork for the books.
The Game App will be available to download from the Apple TV App Store from mid Dec. Price £1.49.
