Richard is a keen advocate for tiger conservation and is also keen to have the opportunity to talk to children about
tigers, conservation and the story behind how he came to write the Tigeropolis series.

Tigers are losing their habitat and are very much under threat. There are probably just over 4,000 tigers left in the wild today. In just over a hundred years tiger numbers have declined by about 95%.
Tigers basically need three things – space to roam, sufficient prey to feed on and protection from poaching. People need to care enough to actually change things on the ground. Thankfully there are a number of organisations trying to help, including WWF, Born Free, TigerWatch Village Guardians and our friends at TOFTigers (www.toftigers.org).
